How it works

Buyer pays fees (default)

The service fee is added at checkout on top of the ticket price. You receive the full ticket price. Most hosts choose this option.

$50 ticket → Buyer pays $53.00

You receive $50.00

Host absorbs fees

The fee is deducted from your revenue. Buyers see a clean ticket price with no extra charges. Great for premium events.

$50 ticket → Buyer pays $50.00

You receive $47.00

Frequently asked questions

Are there any monthly subscription fees?

No. Eventtree is completely free to use. You only pay fees when you sell paid tickets.

Are free events really free?

Yes. There are zero fees for free events — no platform fee, no processing fee, nothing.

Who pays the Stripe processing fee?

Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30 is included in the transaction. When buyers pay fees, it's added to their total. When hosts absorb fees, it's deducted from revenue.

When do I get paid?

Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect after your event. Funds typically arrive in 2-7 business days depending on your Stripe account.

Can I change who pays the fees after creating an event?

Yes, you can edit your event settings at any time from your host dashboard to switch between buyer-pays and host-absorbs.

Are there any limits on ticket sales?

No limits. Whether you're selling 10 tickets or 10,000, the fee structure stays the same.
